This is the story of Kori, a deaf child who lives in a refugee camp in the Sahara. His mother teaches him to read lips and sign language. His best friend is a small camel called “Caramel." Kori starts reading the animal's lips when he ruminates, interpreting in his own way the thoughts of the camel that become beautiful poems.
When the camel grows, is time to sacrifice it for food. Kori and the camel escape trying to find the land from Caramel’s ancestors.
His uncle finds them. Kori courageously faces the hard time of losing his friend. But this is the pillar on which Kori will become a great poet.
A deaf child becomes the voice of his people. And all thanks to Caramel’s Words.
