Central Asia, around 1950. Tsitili, a young Mongolian, sees the harmony within her family being undermined by the dissension between her father and her grandfather. Nearing her twelfth birthday, she sets off on a journey in search of a magical way to reconcile her family. Beyond her native steppes, in this region under soviet influence, she discovers an unknown world, far from her traditional way of life. Despite the obstacles, she is determined to attain her goal. Upon reaching her destination, she will understand that the answer does not lie where she thought it did.
